Hunter has been on his recovery journey for four years. He attends a long-term facility in Paducah, Kentucky, and he really enjoys helping others. He knows today, that what makes him feel best in-the-moment is not always the best for him. He knew that recovery from substance and a life without addiction was possible, but Centerpoint has taught him how to smile in the rain. He learned that a life without addictive substances is much better and how to be happy even without material things in his life.
He still struggles sometimes with impulse – thinking and action, but he is working on it and getting better. “Pain only makes us stronger”, he says, “if we don’t drink or use over it.”. Hunter loves to help others to find sobriety and as an important truth he found out, that time will heal more than we ever know.
Hunter knows, that he still has a long way to go and is looking forward to an active and healthy life in happiness and without any drugs or drinks. He has great family support and attends regular 12-step meetings all over town.
