I’ve been doing drugs for years, everything but pot and hallucinogenics. I have some limits, you know. For many years I was a functioning meth-head working 16 hour days and just moving up thinking no one knew. They didn’t–until I collapsed with what they thought was a heart attack. My secret was out. I then had 4 kidney operations in 2 years and met my lovers Oxys and percs. I found my match—numbness, stress-free and no pain. I spent 3 years in a fog and then they said DETOX time. I was scared and I was sick. I found where to buy them, and I took so many risks in so many bad neighborhoods. I didn’t know what I was thinking until my best friend called my brother in another state. The game was over, it was confession time and detox again. I found my way to NA. I made new friends, I came to grips with my fears, I made my amends and am now 4 years sober.
