- Alcohol
I have a friendship that’s been difficult since the beginning. I love her but I hurt for her. She’s ten years older than me, and I’m the mature one. First, her addiction was food. Then she got gastric bypass surgery, lost all her weight and became an alcoholic. Then she gained her weight back, picked up smoking and was still an alcoholic. There have been years of rehab. Finally, I had to end the friendship because she was lying, being irresponsible and causing me great stress. Even after we quit talking, I prayed for her all the time.
She started going back to church and really started to focus on healing from the inside and healing the pain that caused her addictions. I’m so excited to say that in the past few months we’ve actually talked a few times, and it’s been fun! After two years of waiting for good conversations, they finally came.
