What made you decide to come to the Heroes 6K Race in Palm Springs?
I came down here to volunteer with my sober living, lend a helping hand and show other recovering addicts that volunteer work is great for the cause.
What made you decide to get into recovery?
I wanted a healthier life for myself and to show my family that I can do better things for myself.
How have you noticed changes in your life since you got into recovery versus when you were actively in addiction?
My health habits have changed drastically. I’ve made better friends that I know are good friends and healthy friends to be around. I’ve found that addicts can recover from this disease.
What advice would you give to someone that’s struggling to get help and really needs it?
Recovery is definitely the lifestyle that you want to live. Living as a drug addict and an alcoholic is not a way that you want to live your life.
