My name is AR. I’m 43 and currently living in York, PA, and I have struggled with the illness of addiction for the last 25 years or more. Because of our behaviors, some of us believe that addiction starts in early childhood before we even meet the chemical. Some of us believe that once we start using, we stop growing emotionally.
In my journey I have discovered all of the above. I have been clean for a while now, and spending time with myself has been the most difficult task I have faced. My main tendency is to get on my own nerves. Being okay with that is not easy, but it is possible. Sharing hope helps me stay clean, and being a good example is my destiny. Showing what I do and not saying too much is the key to helping others.
