- Mental Health
I have worked in addiction and mental health treatment for several years but have been unwilling to admit that I needed help myself to recover from mental illness and trauma. I have recently begun to develop the attitude of “not asking my clients to do what I am unwilling to do myself” and have sought treatment. I am now working with a health coach to work on all aspects of my life, making sure I am “healthy” in my career, relationships, spirituality, education, mental health, physical health, etc. I am also actively engaged in trauma work individually to help myself heal from the trauma I endured in early adulthood. I am breaking the stigma every day by giving voice to my own recovery but also by walking alongside my clients who are also in recovery.
