Hello. My name is Mary. I’ve been clean from drugs since November 29, 2013. This is my third year of not using drugs. It’s been nine years since I had a drink of alcohol.
I wouldn’t be here today if my parents had not kept their faith. I believe that their prayer and actions helped save me. I was locked up on November 29, 2013. When that happened, I found out at the sheriff’s office that I was pregnant with my now two-and-a-half-year-old.
The day I discovered that was pregnant was the day that I decided to stop using drugs. I knew that if I continued to use, I would either be locked up permanently or end up in my grave. Plus, I also had a little one to worry about.
I stayed in jail for three weeks and was told by the judge at my bond hearing that I had a $5000 bond and that I had to stay in jail until my family was able to find me a rehab program. They did find me a rehab. My rehab was a faith-based rehab program and we had to go to church on Sunday mornings, Sunday evenings, and Wednesday nights along with going to 12-step groups and support meetings. All of these things helped me.
