- Alcohol
- Faith
My name is Johnna and I from San Antonio, TX. I have been struggling with recovery for the past six years. I have been an alcoholic since I was 14, and I am now 42. I have just finished my fourth stint in a treatment facility and I totally feel like my life has changed. I know now that God has a purpose for me.
I have changed because I am thinking of others first. I know that God is in control and I can see a purpose in my life and that purpose is in helping others.
I would like to tell those who are struggling in addiction to never give up.
My biggest problem was my ego. I always thought that I could do it on my own. Every time I tried, I ended up failing. You have to lean on others and ask for help. You have to know that you are not alone out there in the struggle.
My goals are to stay sober one day at a time and to help those people who never gave up on me during my struggles.
