What made you decide to come to the Heroes 6K Race in Palm Springs?
I am in living in a sober living house where I am meeting sober people and learning how to make good decisions.
What made you decide to get into recovery?
I was a housewife and mom up until three years ago when I fell in to the drug world. I dove in to the drug world, got scared and almost got hurt really bad. I ran back to the sobriety world. I put myself into a rehab program to seek my own help. I have two beautiful daughters that helped me get that help. Recovery is a beautiful feeling compared to the sick feeling I had for the past three years. It was terrifying, and I gave up on two beautiful little miracles that I made.
What advice would you give to someone that’s struggling to get help and really needs it?
I’d say to seek help because you cannot do it alone! You have support from people that you love. It just takes baby steps, one step at a time.
