My name is Hunter M. I am a teenager. I was given a talent of saving people. I’m an advocate for Heroin Recovery. I lost my best friend to a heroin overdose. My best friend’s name is Michael “Mike”. I met Mike at a field trail. Michael and I became friends. I have a lot of good memories of Mike. When I heard that Michael passed away I was completely in shock. Still to this day I am in denial that he is gone.
Most teenagers are not educated about what this drug can do. I am proud to be an advocate. Even though I am a teenager, that does not stop me from educating students. We have an epidemic in our backyard. “Every 14 minutes, 1 person dies from a Heroin Overdose.” I have made it my mission to educate students.
Here is a message for active users: Never give up on HOPE, Recovery is possible BUT you HAVE TO WANT RECOVERY. YOU ARE NEVER TOO LOST TO BE SAVED!
