Chad struggled with substance use disorders for a long time before he lost everything he had and ended up in jail. He lost his relationships, his material things, and his beliefs. When he was in jail, he was given another chance, and he chose to enter treatment upon his release. He has been on his journey of recovery for 37 months and is amazed by how much being free of drugs and alcohol changed his life.
Chad has experienced so many positive changes in his life since beginning recovery that it is almost impossible to mention them all. He is most proud of the change in his relationship with God. He found his way back to faith and learned that he is not a bad person. Chad learned, “There is a God, and it’s not me!” He no longer struggles with much in his recovery and feels stable. His relationships have drastically improved, and he is very happy that he and his daughter live together.
He urges all people in active addiction to please give recovery a try and decide for themselves.
