- Mental Health
I have been on my recovery journey for seven years. My recovery from a mental health condition has given me stability and allowed me to become a CPS. I also became a member of the 2015 Medtronic Global Heroes Team and published a book of poetry.
I knew I had to seek change when I woke up in a one-bedroom apartment after an OD on sleep medication. The turning point came when I began to believe I could recover. With hope, change is possible. Challenging the stigma of addiction is a big, ongoing struggle, but I overcome it through education and by being an example by living in recovery.
Be good to yourself. Life is meant to be lived and enjoyed by all. We all make mistakes and have struggled. Just as things go downhill, they will go up.
