I’m in recovery from addiction to opiates. After a lot of pain pill use and a private deprivation case relating to my kids, I found my way to the right side of living.
About a year ago, I realized I needed to do something when my former in-laws took me to court. They knew that my ex-husband and I were both using, and they knew our kids needed us to do something for them. I was kind of forced into recovery at first, but now I’m so glad I was.
Since then my life has changed a lot. I get weekly visits with my kids, and there’s the possibility of them coming to be with me at my residential treatment program. Everything’s going really well. I’m not sure exactly what will happen next so right now I’m just riding with all the changes. Everything is turning around, and I’m really excited.
Take it one day at a time. That’s the best advice I can give. Don’t give up.
