Hi, my name is Debbie. I am the mother of a son who died from an overdose on July 1, 2012, from heroin. I went to a candlelight vigil at the Roosevelt College in Schaumburg and I heard some speakers, saw the epidemic that addiction has become and have contacted several people to help bring addiction awareness to our small community. I am from Illinois. I love what you are doing. My husband and I are trying to get an awareness forum with the Hearts of Hope. My son’s name is Cody M. Thank you for your outreach. If I would have known about this illness, I would have sought more education on it. My story is fresh right now and very emotional, so it is hard to write. Once again, thank you for what you are doing.
