- Drugs
I have been on my recovery journey since February 25, 1999. The biggest positive change that has occurred in my life would be connecting with my family again, living my life, going back to school and being able to experience my feelings. The turning point in my life occurred when I overdosed on drugs and I was tired of being tired.
One important truth I have learned is that life is tough but doing it clean is the way to go! Honestly what am I not proud of…I have a house, a job and family love. One of the biggest struggles in ongoing recovery is marriage. The way I overcome this is doing it a day at a time.
Yes, I am proud of the fact I am buying a house, graduated college and have gone from being in the military to a civilian lifestyle.
Something that has helped me on this road is the belief that you need to be happy with yourself and love yourself.
If you are on the beginning of this journey and feel you can’t do it just keep going and my goodness you are worth it! CHANGE!
