My name is Eveie and I am 42 years old from Riverside, California. I got clean eight years ago and had a short relapse in 2015. I like to say short, because it was very short, because I learned the error of my ways.
Life now is beautiful being sober. I have a hard time understanding the reasoning of the relapse, but it doesn’t matter now. I feel so blessed because really good things have come from that slip.
Better relationships, more support from my friends, and a clearer picture of life have all come from that mistake. I am not ashamed to tell people what I have done, because I want to tell them to know that they too can be clean and sober. I have gone to many meetings but my friends and family have been a big impact on keeping me sober. Every day is a new day!
