Start by describing the situation that changed your life or a loved one’s life.
It was 2013 and a “friend” introduced me to heroin. I fell in love. I was hooked. I cared about nothing other than chasing this high.
Based on your situation or story, was there a turning point that prompted the need for change or help?
Yes. There was a turning point. As I lay in my shed when I was homeless I was contemplating just ending it all when my higher power reached out and offered His helping hand.
How did you or your HERO get help?
I got help by turning to my Father and took flight in recovery classes.
Based on your experience, what lessons did you learn? Do you have any advice to give?
I learned to not take life for granted. Live every single day like it’s going to be your last and never, ever give into peer pressure.
If you or your loved one is in recovery, describe what life is like today.
Life is great. I’m working on being happy.
