Renee has family members in recovery and has watched their struggles. She always wants to finds ways to show support for them like sending note cards to let them know she is in their corner. No matter what is going on in their lives, she will be there for them. Running this 6k race was another way to express that support.
Her journey has taught her to never give up, maintain hope, stay in a positive environment and believe in your higher power. She takes care of herself and has learned who she really is. This allows her to maintain her balance and be there for others.
She believes in the recovery bible she was given, as it is a way for her and her recovering family members to connect and have meaningful conversation.
For those who are new to this recovery journey, she wishes to encourage them to avoid being judgmental and love people for who they are.
